2.30 Do not grieve for any creature Krishna speaks
देही नित्यमवध्योऽयं देहे सर्वस्य भारत
तस्मात्सर्वाणि भूतानि न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि
dehī nityam avadhyo ’yaṁ dehe sarvasya bhārata
tasmāt sarvāṇi bhūtāni na tvaṁ śhochitum arhasi
The one who dwells in the body of every being cannot be killed. So do not grieve for any creature.
Explanation
Do not grieve for any creature.
The one who dwells in the body of every being cannot be killed.
The metaphysical section closes by widening from Arjuna's kinsmen to all creatures. What began as consolation about specific deaths ends as a claim about everything alive.
