18.33 Steadiness through practice Krishna speaks

धृत्या यया धारयते मनःप्राणेन्द्रियक्रियाः
योगेनाव्यभिचारिण्या धृतिः सा पार्थ सात्त्विकी

dhṛityā yayā dhārayate manaḥ-prāṇendriya-kriyāḥ
yogenāvyabhichāriṇyā dhṛitiḥ sā pārtha sāttvikī

The steadiness by which one holds the movements of mind, breath and senses, unwavering through practice, is of clarity.

Explanation

Steadiness through practice.

Holding the movements of mind, breath and senses, unwavering by yoga.

The word for the method is practice, as at 6.35 and 12.9. Across the whole book, whenever the Gita is asked how, the answer includes repetition.
