18.25 Action without regard Krishna speaks

अनुबन्धं क्षयं हिंसामनपेक्ष्य च पौरुषम्
मोहादारभ्यते कर्म यत्तत्तामसमुच्यते

anubandhaṁ kṣhayaṁ hinsām anapekṣhya cha pauruṣham
mohād ārabhyate karma yat tat tāmasam uchyate

Action undertaken in delusion, without regard for consequences, for loss, for harm, or for one's own capacity, is said to be of inertia.

Explanation

Action without regard.

Undertaken in delusion, without regard for consequences, for loss, for harm, or for one's own capacity.

The last item is the interesting one. Overreaching is classified with heedlessness of harm — both are failures to look before acting, which is the lowest grade's signature.
