17.25 Tat, and wanting no fruit Krishna speaks
तदित्यनभिसन्धाय फलं यज्ञतपःक्रियाः
दानक्रियाश्च विविधाः क्रियन्ते मोक्षकाङ्क्षि
tad ity anabhisandhāya phalaṁ yajña-tapaḥ-kriyāḥ
dāna-kriyāśh cha vividhāḥ kriyante mokṣha-kāṅkṣhibhiḥ
With Tat, and without desiring the fruit, the various acts of offering, austerity and giving are performed by those who seek release.
Explanation
Tat — that — and the letting go that goes with it.
Used without desiring the fruit, by those who seek release.
The word means simply that, and the grammar is the theology: naming the object of the act as something other than yourself is what removes it from your account. Pointing away is the practice.
