समदुःखसुखः स्वस्थः समलोष्टाश्मकाञ्चनः
तुल्यप्रियाप्रियो धीरस्तुल्यनिन्दात्मसंस्तुतिः

sama-duḥkha-sukhaḥ sva-sthaḥ sama-loṣhṭāśhma-kāñchanaḥ
tulya-priyāpriyo dhīras tulya-nindātma-sanstutiḥ

the same in pain and pleasure, at home in the self, taking clod, stone and gold alike; the same toward what is wanted and unwanted, steady, the same under blame and praise;

Explanation

Clod, stone and gold alike.

The list of samenesses runs on — pain and pleasure, wanted and unwanted, blame and praise — and lands on the one with an edge to it.

Gold is the item that makes the claim testable. Being even about weather is available to most people; being even about money is the version that costs something.
