14.15 Dying in the other two Krishna speaks
रजसि प्रलयं गत्वा कर्मसङ्गिषु जायते
तथा प्रलीनस्तमसि मूढयोनिषु जायते
rajasi pralayaṁ gatvā karma-saṅgiṣhu jāyate
tathā pralīnas tamasi mūḍha-yoniṣhu jāyate
Meeting the end in restlessness, one is born among those attached to action; dissolving in inertia, one is born in the wombs of the unknowing.
Explanation
And dying in the other two.
In restlessness, born among those attached to action; in inertia, born in the wombs of the unknowing.
Note that neither is described as punishment. Each is a continuation — you are returned to the company of people in the same condition, which is the mechanism 16.19 described more harshly.
