13.35 Seeing the difference Krishna speaks

क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोरेवमन्तरं ज्ञानचक्षुषा
भूतप्रकृतिमोक्षं च ये विदुर्यान्ति ते परम्

kṣhetra-kṣhetrajñayor evam antaraṁ jñāna-chakṣhuṣhā
bhūta-prakṛiti-mokṣhaṁ cha ye vidur yānti te param

Those who see with the eye of knowledge the difference between the field and its knower, and the freeing of beings from nature, reach the highest.

The chapter ends on the distinction it began with.

Those who see with the eye of knowledge the difference between field and knower — and the freeing of beings from nature — reach the highest.

Arjuna asked for definitions and is sent away with a way of looking. The six words were never the point; telling the two apart, in oneself and in everyone, was.
