13.33 Space is not tainted Krishna speaks
यथा सर्वगतं सौक्ष्म्यादाकाशं नोपलिप्यते
सर्वत्रावस्थितो देहे तथाऽऽत्मा नोपलिप्यते
yathā sarva-gataṁ saukṣhmyād ākāśhaṁ nopalipyate
sarvatrāvasthito dehe tathātmā nopalipyate
As space, being everywhere, is not tainted by its subtlety, so the self seated everywhere in the body is not tainted.
Explanation
Space is not tainted by what happens in it.
Being everywhere and subtle, space takes no mark. So the self, seated everywhere in the body, is not marked either.
A better analogy than the lotus leaf of chapter 5, because it removes even the surface. The leaf repels water; space is not the kind of thing water can land on.
