13.31 Spread out from one Krishna speaks

यदा भूतपृथग्भावमेकस्थमनुपश्यति
तत एव च विस्तारं ब्रह्म सम्पद्यते तदा

yadā bhūta-pṛithag-bhāvam eka-stham anupaśhyati
tata eva cha vistāraṁ brahma sampadyate tadā

When one sees that the separate states of beings rest in one, and spread out from that one, then one reaches the highest.

Explanation

Spread out from one.

When one sees that the separate states of beings rest in a single thing and spread out from it, then the highest is reached.

The verb is doing the work. Not that difference is false — that it unfolds from one, which leaves the many exactly as real as they look and changes what they are made of.
