13.3 The knower in every field Krishna speaks
क्षेत्रज्ञं चापि मां विद्धि सर्वक्षेत्रेषु भारत
क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोर्ज्ञानं यत्तज्ज्ञानं मतं मम
kṣhetra-jñaṁ chāpi māṁ viddhi sarva-kṣhetreṣhu bhārata
kṣhetra-kṣhetrajñayor jñānaṁ yat taj jñānaṁ mataṁ mama
Know me also as the knower of the field in every field, Arjuna. Knowledge of the field and of its knower — that I hold to be knowledge.
Explanation
And then the claim that widens it.
Know me also as the knower in every field. Not one knower per body: the same knower, everywhere.
Which converts a piece of psychology into the chapter's central metaphysical claim, and it is what 13.28 will turn into an ethic. Whatever is doing the knowing in you is doing it in everyone.
