यद्यप्येते न पश्यन्ति लोभोपहतचेतसः
कुलक्षयकृतं दोषं मित्रद्रोहे च पातकम्
yady apy ete na paśhyanti lobhopahata-chetasaḥ
kula-kṣhaya-kṛitaṁ doṣhaṁ mitra-drohe cha pātakam
Even if they cannot see it, their minds overpowered by greed — the wrong in destroying a family, the offence in betraying friends —
Explanation
He grants that the other side cannot see it.
Their minds overpowered by greed — lobhopahata-cetasaḥ — they cannot see the wrong in destroying a family.
Note the fairness. Even here, he explains his enemies' behaviour as a failure of sight rather than as evil, which is exactly the diagnosis chapter 16 will give.
